IRMA IS UNNECESSARILY and BEYOND RUDE! I made the mistake of referring a co worker to them after years of sending them referrals. They were under the impression that she was an undocumented person so they decided to gouge her and charge her $1000 on a $1000 and tried unsuccessfully to get an additional $1000 from her thinking she would have a release hold placed on her. This is a common practice that they have with undocumented people who come to them for help in their most critical and desperate hours. They will charge them up to 3x the amount of the bond. Since they were told my friend was not "from here" ( she is from McAllen) they assumed she was undocumented and took advantage. The bond has been substituted and replaced by another bondsman for $100 dollars the 10% amount. Mc Rae is no longer on her bond and no longer liable for this bond after 3 days of release from jail. They are no longer doing anything for her and refuse to refund her money. In a recorded phone call Irma is heard saying that they charged 1000 dollars because of their bad attitude. They later tried to say that she was charged that amount because she had no collateral. They Knew full and well that they could have told her to take that 1000 and pay it at the jail as a cash bond and at the end of the case it would be refunded. They unethically decided to omit that part before taking these young naïve girls money. If it was one of your children in trouble, and scared the last thing anyone would want is for someone to take advantage of their desperate and unfortunate situation. When i spoke with Irma and asked for a refund she stated "were not giving her anything back, we already did the leg work" I replied with "You are trying to tell me that your runner charged you $1000 dollars to deliver the free piece of paper from Presa St. to the Jail"? John McRae later informed me that he would think about how much money he would refund after I told him that he was no longer on her bond and that he knew that it was the right thing to do. He has since ignored my calls and my friend's calls. I never expected this level of shadiness and this level of greediness from this place. I will never refer another person again. I will also warn as many people as I can on every platform about their deceitful practices. My friend called today and Irma coldly said "We don't give refunds" and proceeded to hang up on my friend. BAD BUSINESS with these people. I warn to be cautious if you need to deal with this place. Please check out all other Bondsman before ever going to this place.
